Restaurants
There are a number of good restaurants, but of course there are also less good ones. At the end of the day that's a question of taste. In any case, we want you to know our favorite restaurants.

Bars & Ice Cream
No holiday in Italy without espresso or the famous gelato. Not far from us you will find bars and ice cream shops that are absolutely worth a visit.

Ferries
The main means of transport are the ferries. They operate mainly between Piombino on the mainland and Portoferraio, the island's capital. The crossing takes about one hour. Tickets can be bought at the ticket office in the port office or on board (additional charges apply).

Shopping
In Marina di Campo you can find almost everything in the supermarket Conad. But we also like to go shopping in the village of Seccheto. At Nino you get a lot for daily use. A very small shop, but Nino is really nice. You can get fresh bread at Non-solo pane. Stella is looking forward to your visit.

Dogs
We also look forward to your four-legged companion. He can run around in our fenced property (as long as he doesn't want to drive us out of our garden and as long as you clean up his legacies). Dogs are allowed on the beaches, but this can be a bit difficult in high season when it is quite crowded. And that's certainly not relaxing for the dog either.

Hiking map
If you like hiking and want to explore the island by foot, you absolutely have to download the free hiking map from Avenza Maps (for iOS and for Android). However, registration is required. As soon as you have downloaded the app to your smartphone, download the Isola d'Elba - 4Land 2022 map. You will have a lot of fun with it.
The golden rules
of our house
We don't want to annoy you with our golden rules - you're on vacation and should enjoy your stay with us at Casa Paradiso. They are meant to ensure that you - and us - make life as comfortable as possible. We ask you and all your fellow travelers to observe the following points.

Smoking is not allowed in the apartment. You are allowed to smoke on the terrace, but please note that the dry pine needles in the garden will start burning in no time. So please put cigarette butts and ashes in the ashtray. Otherwise we will have a real problem.

The drain pipe from the toilet clogs quickly. Please only use the absolutely necessary minimum of toilet paper. Other things don't even belong in the toilet. There are trash cans in the bathroom.

The air condition uses a lot of electricity, especially when it's hot. We are very grateful if you turn off the air condition when you are away for a longer period of time. This not only helps to reduce electricity costs, but also protects the environment.

Water is on Elba - as in many mediterranean places - a precious and scarce commodity. Please use the water sparingly.

Garbage is collected separately on the island. Please dispose all glass in the green box next to the apartment. Paper is collected in the brown paper bag. Compost waste (no leftovers from meals please) goes into the small yellow box, or in the larger brown box if more space is needed. We will take care of emptying the boxes.
